Why CostTrak was created

Most remodelers can write a quote. The hard part is writing it fast enough, without missing extras, and knowing the number will still hold up. CostTrak turns notes, photos, and measurements into a priced quote in one tap, then keeps costs on that same job after the work starts.

Built from software experience and real contractor problems

CostTrak was created by Brad Cedergren, a software engineer and owner of Cedergren Renovations. It combines software development experience with the practical job-costing problems faced by small contractors, including scattered receipts, missed labor, undocumented changes, and discovering margin problems too late.

CostTrak is being built as a focused quoting and job-costing tool for small remodeling contractors and handymen. It is not intended to become another oversized construction-management platform.

Small remodeling contractors and handymen — owner-operators and small crews who currently quote from notes, texts, or spreadsheets.

What CostTrak is deliberately not trying to become

CostTrak is not trying to replace accounting or payroll, and it is not a full construction management platform. It quotes the job and tracks that job's costs.
