Built for contractors who are done guessing

Know what every job is really costing before the profit is gone.

CostTrak helps small contractors compare estimates, purchases, labor, change orders, and invoices in real time, so margin problems show up while there is still time to correct them.

A focused system for protecting job margin, not another all-purpose construction CRM.

CostTrak is built for handymen, remodelers, carpenters, and small crews who currently track job costs in spreadsheets, notebooks, or disconnected apps — not for enterprises that need a full project management suite.

Most jobs do not lose money on paper. They lose money in the details.

Contractors rarely miss profit because they cannot write a quote. They miss profit because costs pile up after the quote is sent, and nobody adds them up until the job is already over.

Materials purchased but never assigned to the job.
Labor taking longer than estimated.
Change orders discussed but not documented.
Receipts spread across trucks, email, and bank accounts.
Material allowances being exceeded.
Jobs appearing profitable until all costs are entered.
Final invoices failing to capture the actual scope completed.

One thread from estimate to final margin

Every job follows the same path. CostTrak keeps every step connected so nothing gets entered twice and nothing falls through the cracks.

Common questions

What is CostTrak?

CostTrak is job costing and profit tracking software for small contractors. It helps you compare estimates, purchases, labor, change orders, and invoices in real time so margin problems show up while there's still time to fix them.

Who is CostTrak designed for?

Handymen, remodelers, carpenters, specialty contractors, and small crews or owner-operators who currently track job costs with spreadsheets, notebooks, or disconnected apps.

Is CostTrak accounting software?

No. CostTrak is focused on job costing and quoting, not general ledger accounting, payroll, or tax filing. It's built to sit alongside your accounting software, not replace it.

Does CostTrak replace QuickBooks?

No. CostTrak does not handle bookkeeping, payroll, or tax filing. It focuses specifically on per-job cost tracking and margin visibility, which most accounting software treats as an afterthought.

Can I track labor and material costs?

Yes. CostTrak lets you enter estimated labor and material costs on a job and record actual purchases and labor as the job progresses, broken out by cost bucket.

Can I compare estimated and actual costs?

Yes. Job closeout captures actual labor hours, material costs, and other costs, and CostTrak shows the variance against your original estimate.

Can I track change orders?

Yes. Change orders are a supported quote type in CostTrak, so extra work discussed with a customer can be documented and rolled into the job's cost and invoice picture.

Can I export my data?

Quotes and invoices can be exported as PDF today. Broader account data export (CSV/JSON) is planned but not yet available. See the Contractor Beta page for the current status.

Is CostTrak available on Android?

CostTrak is a responsive web app that works in a phone or tablet browser today. There is no native Android or iOS app at this time.

How much does CostTrak cost?

The CostTrak contractor beta is currently free. Pricing for the full release has not yet been finalized.

Is the contractor beta free?

How is my business data protected?

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database, encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and access is protected by authenticated, per-organization accounts. See the Security page for details.

How do I provide feedback?
